This Craftsman-style home on Bluff Street already held undeniable character: thoughtful proportions and a sense of history that deserved to be preserved. The challenge of this Boulder home remodel wasn’t to reinvent it, but to thoughtfully evolve it.

Our clients loved their home, but their lives were changing. They needed spaces that felt more open and connected, without losing the architectural integrity that made the house special in the first place. Through close collaboration, we explored ways to modernize the interiors while honoring the original craftsmanship.

Rich green tones became a defining thread throughout the home, layered with warm oak elements and grounding black accents. The palette feels timeless yet fresh, enhancing the Craftsman roots while giving the interiors renewed energy. The result is a cohesive design that respects the past and supports the present.

Executing this Boulder renovation required careful, intentional updates. To foster a more open and inviting layout, we reconfigured the kitchen to improve flow and visibility into adjacent living spaces. Expanded sightlines now connect the kitchen, dining, and living areas, reinforcing the home’s natural role as a gathering place.

We had the pleasure of leveraging our custom carpentry experience to rebuild the home’s custom stairs to enhance both safety and architectural continuity, and the upper-level bathrooms were upgraded to align with the refreshed aesthetic. Each change was made with restraint, ensuring improvements felt integrated rather than imposed.

Again using our unique carpentry acumen, we also custom-designed a fireplace mantel that anchors the main living area, adding warmth and personality while tying together the updated materials. The finished home feels brighter, more connected, and beautifully balanced, a Boulder home remodel that honors its Craftsman heritage while embracing modern family life.
