This 1960s ranch was ready for a new chapter, and so were our clients–so we helped them remodel their home in a way that would maximize resale value. Our clients loved the home’s bones but envisioned something lighter, brighter, and more aligned with their style. Their goal for this Boulder home renovation was clear: transform the house into a modern farmhouse retreat, both inside and out.
We collaborated on a neutral foundation layered with opulent touches to elevate the aesthetic without overpowering it. Soft whites, warm woods, and subtle contrast created a clean backdrop, while refined finishes added dimension and depth. The design balances simplicity with sophistication, timeless rather than trendy.
One of our favorite details is the handcrafted Italian porcelain tile surrounding the oven and range. It introduces texture and contemporary elegance, becoming a quiet focal point in the kitchen and setting the tone for the rest of the home.

This Boulder renovation was comprehensive. Nearly every surface was modernized to be timeless and yet unique to Boulder so that the home would sell quickly when the market was prime. A new mudroom addition was added to support everyday routines, creating a practical transition space that the original ranch lacked.
The basement was fully completed, transforming previously underutilized square footage into livable, welcoming space. In the kitchen, a custom butcher block and light-inlay shelving steal the show, blending craftsmanship with warmth and reinforcing the modern farmhouse feel.
Sustainability remained a priority throughout the project. Most of the removed materials were donated to Resource, reducing waste and extending the life of quality components. The result is a refreshed ranch that feels cohesive, elevated, and thoughtfully renewed, a Boulder home renovation that honors the past while embracing a more refined future.
