Ranch Style Home Remodel

At Tectonic, a custom home renovation is more than an upgrade. It’s an opportunity to reimagine how your home supports the life you want to live.

Whether you're remodeling a single room or your entire home, we take the same thoughtful approach as our custom builds, blending design, craftsmanship, and sustainability to create spaces that truly reflect you.

  • This project represented an opportunity to bring three generations together–not just in the home itself, but in the design-build process too! This ranch-style home in Lyons had strong roots, but it was ready for a thoughtful evolution. The homeowners wanted a refresh that honored the home’s connection to Boulder’s natural landscape while introducing a more modern sensibility. This Boulder home renovation was less about reinvention and more about refinement, and all three children and Dad wanted to collaborate on how.

We focused on modernizing the kitchen and six bathrooms, grounding each space in natural materials that reflect the mountainous surroundings. Warm wood tones, organic textures, and earthy finishes were layered intentionally to create continuity throughout the home. The goal was to make every room feel cohesive: updated, yet still connected to its setting.

Timelessness guided every design decision. Rather than chasing trends, we selected materials and palettes that will age gracefully, ensuring the family can enjoy these spaces for many generations to come.

  • A standout feature of this Boulder renovation was preserving the homeowners’ beloved antique range. Rather than replacing it, we thoughtfully integrated it into the new kitchen design, allowing it to remain both a functional appliance and a meaningful focal point.

In the primary bath, natural materials elevate both floors and walls, creating a serene, spa-like atmosphere. Strategic spatial adjustments enlarged key areas, improving flow and usability without compromising the ranch-style footprint.

Throughout the home, aesthetics and practicality were carefully balanced. By drawing inspiration from Boulder’s natural beauty and combining it with intentional craftsmanship, this Boulder home renovation feels fresh, grounded, and built to last.
