This project was especially meaningful to us… because it was our own. As a design build in Boulder team, we spend our days shaping homes for others. This time, we had the opportunity to shape our own creative space–our “work home” in downtown Boulder–to better serve our clients and inspire our team.
We envisioned a studio that felt minimalist, airy, and intentional. A neutral palette of white and black creates clarity, while warm wood tones and brass accents introduce depth and character. The design is understated but layered, a reflection of the thoughtful balance we aim to achieve in every Boulder home remodel and Boulder home renovation we take on.
The studio is carefully furnished with tactile textures, curated décor, and living greenery to bring warmth and life into the space. Throughout, we showcase materials and selections crafted in partnership with trusted local vendors, creating an environment where clients can see, touch, and experience design possibilities firsthand while supporting their local community.
The transformation was comprehensive: from a car mechanic’s shop filled with dust and oil to a high-end design firm flooded with light. The existing studio was fully gutted and rebuilt to support a more dynamic and collaborative workflow.
We thoughtfully segmented the space into functional zones: private offices, bathrooms, a kitchen, lounge, entry, shop area, conference room, and an expansive design library. Each area was designed with purpose, ensuring the studio supports everything from focused creative work to client presentations and team collaboration.
The result is more than just an office. It’s a living example of our process, a space that reflects the care, craftsmanship, and creativity we bring to every Boulder home renovation. By investing in our own environment, we’ve created a studio that fuels inspiration and strengthens our ability to design and build exceptional homes throughout Boulder.
